The Blue Oak Living Library: Community-based conservation of future climate-adapted genotypes

Acorns can’t be stored in conventional gene banks, but some of the most future climate-adapted population are already being lost with climate change. We have worked with Point Blue Conservation Science and land stewards across the California to rescue seeds from threatened populations and outplant them in climate-safer locations. Upon maturity, acorns from these seedlings can be made available for restoration on hotter/drier climates as need. Learn more here!
